Clearwell markets a modular and flexible container based system, a bespoke designed leachate treatment installation, that handles industrial waste water containing large amounts of heavy metals and also suspended solids. Water with high turbidity often occur at industrial sites with operations like metal recycling, waste water containing dust and other suspended solids can reach values up to 1000 NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Unit). A typical discharge standard is around >10 NTU, which leads to a need to reduce the turbidity in the water.
The system is designed to reduce heavy metals, isotops and chemical pollutants through a combination of plasma treated stainless filter meshes, electro spun nano filter solutions, active carbon and polypropylen filters. A degree of pre treatment is often necessary, as oil and sediments are present in the “raw” waste water. There are many ways to separate particles from water, for instance with sand filters, granulates or by chemical treatment designed for flocculation, coagulation and sedimentation.
